Field of Philosophy

The Philosophy doctoral field has an honorable history in the University of the West, dating back to 2004, when the Doctoral School of Philosophy was established, by Order of the Ministry of Education no. 3867/17.05.2004, having at that time the following doctoral supervisors: Prof. Constantin Grecu, Prof. Ion Ceapraz, Prof. Ioan Biriș. Later, Prof. Florea Lucaci joined. Over time, under the leadership of the four professors, an average of four public defenses of doctoral theses per year in the Philosophy field took place. There was no rejection from the National Commission for the Attestation of University Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates. Currently, the Philosophy doctoral field is accredited according to OM 5382/2016.
