The duties of CSUD

IOSUD-UVT strategy development

Defining strategic directions for the development of doctoral studies and postdoctoral research programs.

Regulatory work

Creating and updating the regulations for doctoral studies, admission methodologies, completion of studies and other norms necessary for the proper conduct of academic activity.

Organization of doctoral schools

Administrative support provided to doctoral schools through the CSUD secretariat, namely strategic decisions regarding the approval of the establishment, reorganization or dissolution of doctoral schools.

Quality assurance

Support provided to doctoral schools for the implementation of academic and ethical standards, as well as the development of requirements for writing doctoral theses.

Increasing academic performance

Adopting measures to improve the performance of doctoral schools and maintain the standards imposed by quality assurance agencies.

Selection of doctoral supervisors

Validation of doctoral supervisors proposed for affiliation by doctoral schools and management of the habilitation procedure at the IOSUD-UVT level.

Distribution of doctoral grants

Allocation to doctoral schools and fields of study of scholarships, including scholarships funded from other sources.

Promoting international mobility

Supporting doctoral students for international internships and academic collaborations and attracting postdoctoral researchers from abroad.

Elections

The mandate of teacher CSUD members is 5 years, valid for the period 2024-2029.

The mandate of student CSUD members is renewed annually. The OSUT independently organises the elections for these positions.
